After Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings to the Lord, God appeared to him in the night. God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you” (2 Chronicles 1:7). Solomon hadn’t been expecting God to show up. He just wanted to express his devotion and commitment to God by giving the offerings.
When Solomon asked for wisdom and knowledge to lead his people, God was pleased to give him not only what he asked for, but far more. God gave him riches like no king had ever had before or since.
We can ask God anything. We are assured that God hears us if we ask sincerely and with faith (James 1:6; 4:3). God is concerned about the small details of our lives as well as the big ones. He is just waiting for a humble heart to ask for His help.
Prayer Suggestion: Lord, help me to be as wise as Solomon in all I ask of You.
